A London restaurant, barely a month old, gets an expressive makeover. Four graffiti artists were recruited by art direction agency The Narrative to give the Karpo restaurant & The Megaro Hotel a little something extra. The artists are part of the street art collective Agents of Change, an innovative group who creates site specific work in consideration of history and larger political ideas.. This particular building is located in King’s Cross where many international people and Londoners pour in everyday.
The artists spray painted not only the outside of the building but the interior walls as well. The restaurant and hotel bought fourteen permanent pieces done by the four artists for display. The bright geometric pattern consists of teal, hot pink, chalk white, lilac purples, fruit orange and construction hat yellow to name a few. All together the four artists used forty-two gallons of spray paint in addition to thirty-nine gallons of emulsion to create the largest mural in London. Before any paint hit the building, the artists spent six weeks brainstorming from their prospective home bases of Los Angeles, Paris, London and Edinburgh.
It only took two weeks for the artists to finish their piece on the Georgian building.
