On September 20th, Lower East Side speakeasy Caveat will present the fourth installment of Why Your Train is F*cked Up, a love/hate comedy show about the history of the MTA. Why Your Train is F*cked Up is part of Caveat’s line-up of “intelligent nightlife” programming. The subject of this month’s show is the Second Avenue subway.

The Second Avenue subway was first proposed in 1919 and it took ninety-eight years and $4 billion to complete Phase I. Hosts Meg Pierson and Justin Williams, with the help of an MTA employed ghostwriter, will give the audience the inside scoop. This month, Pierson and Williams will also be joined by architect and graphic designer Candy Chan. Chan is the creator of Project Subway NYC, a home to her intricate 3D visualizations of the city’s subway stations (and trivia, sketches, and photographs). Her work has been featured on Wired, FastCoDesign, Tech Insider, Time Out New York, CityLab, and 99% Invisible, among others.

Meg Pierson is a Brooklyn resident who co-founded Alchemy Comedy Theater in South Carolina. In addition to helping to write and produce the pet health video series Cone of Shame, Meg travels internationally teaching improv workshops at veterinary conferences – she isn’t a vet but if your cat’s peeing outside of the litterbox it’s probably a UTI. She’s a two-time emcee of TEDx Greenville and currently hosts Versus at Caveat every second Saturday. In her free time, she offers people jobs at Axiom Law.
Justin Williams is an Assistant Professor of History at the City College of New York.  Justin is also a comedian that has been featured on Comedy Central’s Jokes.com, Mashable, SiriusXM Radio, The Elite Daily, Men’s Health Magazine, The Kansas City Star, ‘Morning Buzz Live‘ on VH1, ‘Trial by Laughter’ on Comcast, ‘Laughs’ on Fox and ‘The Comedy Show Show’ on Seeso.
