The Gay Pride Parade is an annual tradition that takes place in cities across the globe, honoring the Stone Wall Riots in NYC in the 1960’s. Each city has its own take on the Parade itself, and Paris’ is never a let-down. The Parade is organized to celebrate equality and love, for everyone to come together and strive for equal civil rights. Whether you are homosexual, transgender, or just a straight citizen supporting a friend, family member or complete stranger, the Gay Pride Parade is a part of each city’s tradition every June.
This Saturday, June 30, was Paris’ Gay Pride Parade: starting at Montparnasse, finishing at Bastille. Every year, Parisian citizens of all walks of life come together and show their pride. Thousands of people lined up along the streets of the 14th, 6th and 5th districts to watch marchers and floats of dancing, go-go boys, associations and political parties show off their pride, desire, support and goals for equality.
