A stretch of Fifth Avenue from 46th Street to 54th Street has been transformed into “The Marvelous Mile” to celebrate the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Fans of the show packed the famous thoroughfare Friday afternoon as the pink carpet was rolled out in honor of the release of the first three episodes of the hit show’s fifth season on Amazon Prime. Stars Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shalhoub, other members of the cast, and show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino were there to take part in the fun! The mile-long immersive experience featured recreations of sets from the show for fans to relive some of the most iconic moments from the series.
The first stop along the mile is the stage of the Gaslight Café, where Midge herself kicked off her career in the very first season. Next, fans get to relive the Maisels’ vacation to the Catskills with a photo op. Moving along to 49th Street, visitors are transported to the Fontainebleau in Miami, a location from season 3. At this stop, you can indulge in a selection of curated cocktail kits.
At the epicenter of the experience is Saks Fifth Avenue. Outside the legendary store, vintage cars and taxis reminiscent of the 1960s line the street. Black and white cookies from Manischewitz, classic Jewish deli fare, are handed out for you to munch on as you walk along six windows of Saks that spotlight some of the most iconic outfits worn by the cast. Performers ins 1960s attire burst into dance throughout the day!
Traveling through the show’s timeline to season 4, fans next step into a recreation of a dressing room from the Wolford, the nightclub where Midge performed throughout the season. Here fans got to take home a special edition lipstick in a custom Maisel lipstick case.
The Maisel experience on Fifth Avenue ends on 54th Street with a final photo op to say “Maisel Tov” to Midge. While parts of the activation will be ongoing, the Marvelous Mile will close Friday evening April 14th at 6:00PM ET. The Marvelous Mile is part of a large campaign to promote the fifth season of the show. Until April 16th, fans can order a pink “Marvelous Martini” at the St. Regis Hotel New York at King Cole Bar. Other initiatives surrounding the series’ release include a collection of specially curated color palettes from Pantone, a custom Maisel candle from Candier’s, a ‘60s-style workout class at TWA Hotel, a list of Betty Crocker’s most popular recipes of the era, and Tupperware’s latest vintage line of ‘60s-inspired bowls!
