New York City straphangers can now see a new Pride logo decal on the side of select subway cars in celebration of 2019 World Pride and the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. The colorful heart-shaped logo shows the subway lines (though not the gray S lines). But that’s not all, the MTA has gone all out with 500,000 limited-edition MetroCards and Pride-themed merchandise, including t-shirts, mugs, magnets, stickers, bags, mugs and bandanas, with the new heart-shaped logo available at the New York Transit Museum stores on 2 Broadway, Grand Central Terminal, and the Transit Museum in Brooklyn). Proceeds of the merchandise support the non-profit New York Transit Museum.

You can find the MTA Pride logo, designed by MTA staff, on the sides of five 10-car trains along the 1 line, totally 50 cars for the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. The decals were made courtesy of MTA”s marketing partner, Outfront Media, which paid for the printing and application at no cost to riders. Amanda Kwan, MTA media liaison, tells us that “The MTA celebrates diversity and inclusivity, and we’re incredibly proud to mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and the WorldPride events in our service area with our special Pride trains, and limited-edition MetroCards and merchandise.”

The two Pride-themed MetroCards were designed “with love”, according to the MTA by Transit staff. You can get the new MetroCard by exchanging your current one at one of the following booths and Vending Machines: Christopher St-Sheridan Sq, Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, Roosevelt Av-Jackson Heights, 50 St, 34 St-Hudson Yards, 34 St-Penn Station (1/2/3 and A/C/E), 34 St-Herald Sq, Grand Central-42 St, Times Sq-42 St, 28 St (1), 23 St (C, E), 23 St (1), 23 St (R/W), 18 St, 14 St (1/2/3), 14 St-Union Sq, 14 St (F/M), and W 4 St.
