The Amazing Maize Maze, a NYC corn maze (and its only one), is a glorious adventure every year at the Queens County Farm. Each fall, a new elaborate quirky design that’s sure to please is created. Last year, it was the World’s Fair Unisphere from Flushing-Meadows in corn form. This year, the 3-acre maze is in the design of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. According to the Queens County Farm, the Amazing Maize Maze adventure begins with a “Stalk Talk” to prepare visitors for the 3-acre challenge ahead, who must find their way to Victory Bridge “where the full vista of Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ is revealed.”
Emilie Gordenker, Director of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands, expressed the organization’s excitement about the corn maze: “We at the Van Gogh Museum are always delighted to see how Vincent’s art continues to delight and inspire. This new maze is a marvelous and original demonstration of that.”
The corn maze has been open since September 13th and the weekend festivities include bluegrass music, social distance lawn chairs to lounge in before or after the maze, and a beer garden serving 1697 Adriance Ale, a signature craft beer brewed exclusively for Queens Farm. While checking out the corn maze, you can also bring your compost or pick up farm produce for sale at the Farmstand.
