On October 24th, 2013 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Elizabeth Street Garden in Nolita, the New York Festival of Light, a non-profit art organization dedicated to sharing the beauty of lighting design, will host the first-ever annual light festival in New York, giving New Yorkers a glimpse of the how lighting design can enhance the city’s architecture. Performing artists at First Light include Okamoto Studio, a studio known for their intricate ice sculptures, and Nancy Burson, an artist renowned for her work in morphing techniques.

The quirky and beautiful Elizabeth Street Garden (which also features a mural by artist JR), is in danger of being lost to affordable housing. Check it out at this event and support the campaign to save it.
