As part of our Secrets of the New Yorker Hotel Tour, led by the hotel’s senior project engineer Joe Kinney, we take guests to the rooftop to see the famous NEW YORKER sign up close. Photographers James and Karla Murray, who also run our Historic East Village Food Tours, captured these amazing shots from the rooftop on a tour with us recently.
The rooftop of the New Yorker Hotel has never been an observation deck, and is occupied mostly by mechanical equipment. But the view is stunning, like the view towards Hudson Yards and the Javits Center (where you can see the green roof), above, or this angle of the Empire State Building below:
