New Film Shows How Art Brings Life to Green-Wood Cemetery
Discover how the living and the dead make Green-Wood Cemetery a vibrant part of NYCs cultural scene!
The annual New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show, which opens today, is one of the city’s most popular holiday wonders, and a rare one that delights both long-time locals and visitors. There are over 175 New York City landmarks created from barks, leaves, and other plant-based materials, with model trains running through the miniature wonderland located inside the stunning Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. There are always a few new buildings added and this year, there’s a focus on Lower Manhattan, the birthplace of New York City. Look out for new replicas One World Trade Center, the historic Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan (the ferry terminal that takes you to Governors Island), the Woolworth Building, the World Trade Center Oculus, the Battery Park Control House, and the Terminal Warehouse.
You’ll also find a new introductory video that has interviews with the staff of Applied Imagination, the botanical engineering firm that designs and builds the Holiday Train Show’s structures.
