Although President Donald J. Trump has officially decamped to Florida as his primary residence, remnants of his early childhood remain in New York City (along with his many buildings in New York City) including Trump Tower. Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens at Jamaica Hospital, now know as the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Located at 8900 Van Wyck Expressway, the hospital can be seen from the Long Island Railroad as you approach Jamaica station. Particularly notable are the added words TRUMP PAVILION at the top of the Nursing and Rehabilitation building, dedicated for Trump’s mother.
Until he was four years old, Trump lived in a 2,000 square foot, five bedroom Tudor house in Jamaica Estates, Queens at 85-15 Warham Place. The house has been on and off the market in the last few years, with previous purchasers hoping to cash in on the Trump presidency. It certainly has garnered a premium, compared to the other houses in the neighborhood. Trump’s former house sold for $1.4 million in 2016, then $2.14 in 2017 to the company, Trump Birth House, LLC, described by the New York Post as “represented by a Flushing lawyer who works with Chinese buyers seeking overseas investments.”
Donald Trump‘s first house in Jamaica Estates, Queens
The house was last on the market at $2.9 million in February 2019 (with an all-cash buy preferred by the sellers), was taken off the market 10 days later, and then failed to sell at auction. The realty company representing the house stated that the auction had been postponed to allow more time for crowdfunding groups who wanted to buy the house to raise money. There has been no news since November 2019 regarding the house.
The Trump house at 85-14 Midland Parkway in Jamaica Estates
When Trump’s brother Robert was born, the family moved into to a much loftier 4,158 square foot, 23-room Neo-classical revival mansion nearby at 85-14 Midland Parkway. Trump’s father, Fred Trump, had purchased two lots on Midland Parkway, selling one and building the family house on another. This house was sold after the passing of Trump’s father in 1999 and mother in 2000.

Even further back in time, Trump’s grandfather, Frederick Trump Sr. (born Friedrich Drumpf) lived in Woodhaven after arriving in the United States as an immigrant. He started investing in plots of land in Woodhaven and in Jamaica Estates in Queens. After he died at age 49 his wife Elizabeth and two sons, Frederick (Fred) Jr. and John Trump, moved into a house at 175-24 Devonshire Road, just a few minutes from Donald Trump’s childhood homes. Fred Trump lived here with his mother even after he married and started to raise a family, then to the house on Warham Place.
