About this Event:
Rediscover Greenwich, an exciting partnership between Untapped New York and Greenwich Historical Society, launches with the interactive installation “Re-Framing 95,” on the weekend of April 5-6, 2025, at Greenwich Historical Society and the National Historic Landmark Bush-Holley House, located at 47 Strickland Road, Cos Cob, Connecticut.
Rediscover Greenwich: Re-Framing 95 will feature a unique art installation around the Greenwich Historical Society campus and Bush-Holley House featuring a series of floating frames positioned to highlight historic elements of the landscape and vistas that some might feel are impeded upon by the presence of the I-95 highway. The art activation, created by Untapped New York's artist-in-residence Aaron Asis, seeks to reframe these views and challenges visitors to consider the infrastructure not as a blemish, but as an evolving element in the town’s historical tapestry – acknowledging that history is still and always in the making.
The Re-Framing 95 experience will begin with unique guided walking tours along the waterfront across from the Greenwich Historical Society’s Cos Cob campus, focusing on how the I-95 corridor and transportation infrastructure, including the Metro North train tracks, has changed the landscape over the years. These tours are led by Untapped New York's Chief Experience Officer Justin Rivers.
