The beloved Lower East Side appetizing store Russ & Daughters opened up a brand new location on the corner of 34th Street and 10th Avenue in Hudson Yards this week! This new site is the fourth New York City location of this historic establishment, which started as a pushcart in the early 1900s.
Located in a 4,500-square foot space on the ground floor of 50 Hudson Yards, the new eatery will feature Russ & Daughters’ famous housemade bagels, bagel spreads and toppings like smoked fish sliced by hand, a caviar counter, and other traditional Jewish comfort foods such as bialys, babka, and more. Hungry patrons can get a behind-the-scenes look at the bagel-making process while they wait for their food by peering through the glass enclosure of the bagel bakery.
The new location still has a bit of an old-school flare. Hand-painted lightboxes, neon signs, original artwork, and appetizing showcases aesthetically tie this new space to the original. There are many different types of seating options for customers who want to get cozy in a booth or people-watch at the window-facing counters.
Russ & Daughters now has locations in midtown Manhattan, the Lower East Side, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The Hudson Yards location is open every day from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Take a number and enjoy!
