As a team of urban explorers and photographers, we’re dedicated to unearthing New York City’s various secrets. To that end, Untapped Cities’ founders, Michelle Young and Augustin Pasquet, have spent a year gathering 125 mysterious and legendary locations in Brooklyn for their newest book, Secret Brooklyn: An Unusual Guide. In celebration of its release, Atlas Obscura is inviting them to preview their book inside one of Brooklyn’s most secret locations, the Kingsland Wildflowers natural habitat, a native wildflower rooftop garden along Newtown Creek. The event takes place alongside the area’s gigantic Digester Eggs, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the garden before sitting down to discover Brooklyn’s various hidden gems. Uncover an urban safari for wild parrots, locate a landmarked tree, enter the oldest building in New York City, watch a performance of robots in a church, stand tall next to hobbit doors on an otherwise normal street, touch the oldest subway tunnel in the world and much, much more. The details of the event can be found below:
