Vintage 1970s Photos Show Lost Sites of NYC's Lower East Side
A quest to find his grandmother's birthplace led Richard Marc Sakols on a mission to capture his changing neighborhood on film.
It’s been almost two and a half years since Jessica Jones, the Marvel show, premiered on Netflix and gave Hell’s Kitchen a gritty reputation outside of New York. Fans did get to see Jessica, played by Krysten Ritter, in The Defenders, the group superhero show that premiered last year. The second season of Jessica Jones will begin on March 18th and Netflix has just released the latest trailer. You can bet we’re excited to follow the new filming locations for the show.
Jessica Jones, in season two, is re-evaluating her life and going back to the dark days of her accident, where the rest of her family was killed and she was left with superhero powers. Film locations wise, she’s still in her Alias Investigations office/apartment in Hells Kitchen (actually filmed on 100th Street) and she’s still knocking back shots at dive bars. Flashback show Metro-General Hospital, the hospital of choice for superheroes. Fans of David Tennant will be excited to see him reprise the role of Kilgrave. Other familiar faces, including her radio host friend Trish and lawyer Jeri Hogarth, played by Carrie-Ann Moss.
