A quest to find his grandmother's birthplace led Richard Marc Sakols on a mission to capture his changing neighborhood on film.
Like a less skeevy Beetlejuice
Midtown, land of high-rise office buildings and terrible food, is not generally known for the exciting style choices of its inhabitants. (With great food comes great fashion… wasn’t that in Spiderman?) But there are always exceptions. Occasionally a bright spot appears among the suits and polos, shines for a few seconds, and then disappears back into the crowd.
Obviously this dress is incredibly eye-catching, but my favorite parts of this woman’s look are her fantastic hair and makeup choices. The blueish-violet undercut contrasts perfectly with the shiny coral-orange of her lips. In addition to those, her confidence was clearly evident by the way she catwalked down the street. She looks like she got dressed entirely for her own enjoyment. That’s the best reason to, isn’t it?
