The Forgotten History of Tottenville

From the Lenni Lenape who began the history of Tottenville to Captain Christopher Billopp and Bentley Manor in the 17th century, Angie Mangino shares insights into the overlooked history of Tottenville, Staten Island. The narrative ultimately revolves around The Conference House of today, a site on the National Register of Historic Places. A peace conference held there in the 18th century determined the renaming of Bentley Manor. In this talk, Angie will share an overview of her book, 17th Century Tottenville History Comes Alive, the first book in a series, why she is writing this series, and how it came to be.
