Most of us dread the start of the work week, but Mondays don’t always have to be so miserable. We can all learn a thing or two from the Tarmac Dancer, who makes it a point to entertain passengers while on call. In a video uploaded by musician Terry McBride, Tarmac Dancer can be seen busting a groove down the runway, complete with orange safety sticks in hand.
Apparently, this wasn’t McBride’s first encounter with the dancer: “Here we go again,” McBride captioned video, which was uploaded December 8. “Leaving New York this morning on my way back to Nashville and the Tarmac Dancer is back at it.”
The dancing employee is Kyran Ashford, who works for JetStream Ground Services at the Greater Rochester International Airport. Ashford made headlines back in October when Terry McBride posted the video below onto Facebook, along with the hashtags #TarmacDancer and #EmployeeOfTheMonth.
“If I can just make somebody, at least one person, smile and turn their day around, then I am good.” said Ashford to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “I did my job.”
From the 18 million views the video has garnered, it looks like Ashford definitely accomplished his mission. Despite the grind of holiday travel, there were plenty of giggles shared by the passengers.
