  • 5 star ratingAbsolutely awesome! Took the Secrets of GCT tour with Justin this weekend and have done a private Subway tour with Justin in the past. Both were AMAZING. The tours are well planned out and chock full of interesting information. Justin is enthusiastic, very knowledgable and comes with visual aids/pictures including photos he has taken himself that really amplify the experience. You know you are learning from someone who has a passion for the secrets and history of NYC. Justin is approachable and makes sure everyone has a great experience. He texts prior to the tour to make sure you are appropriately prepared to get the most out of the tour and comes prepared with sanitized earpieces to ensure that everyone can hear him despite the loudest of subway trains or train announcements. Will definitely be taking more Untapped tours in the future and would not hesitate to recommend this group to anyone!!

“This was a great way to spend a Saturday and get to know NYC better - highly recommend for locals and tourists alike. Also a great COVID activity since Grand Central is quiet, it really gives you the space and opportunity to get some great photos and soak it in without commotion around you. Justin is a great storyteller and has really done his research on the history - highly recommend!”

5 star ratingLots of fun John was a great tour guide. Even though we’ve lived all our lives in NY, we all learned some interesting facts about Grand Central. He kept us all engaged and we really had a wonderful time. Thank you John!

  • 5 star ratingExcellent tour! Have already signed up for the Penn Station as a result of how well this tour went! Mandy did a great job of showing us the history and special parts of Grand Central! She was knowledgeable and, frankly, very entertaining! She made a very “dry” topic (my wife’s word) so interesting that my wife paid attention and enjoyed herself! The time flew!

5 star ratingGrand Central TERMINAL! Fantastic private tour in October of Grand Central TERMINAL with phenomenal tour guide Gabby Hammond. Like any good educator she tailors the proceedings to both my interests and my intellectual deficiencies. Absolutely Fantastic! Due to pandemic restrictions we didn't take the elevator up to the fourth floor together so I delightfully get locked into the west stairwell.
As a Pennsylvania Railroad enthusiast who bleeds Tuscan Red, I put my total disdain for the Vanderbilts and the New York Central's Twentieth Century Limited on hiatus for the duration. There's only ONE way to Chicago, and that's on the Standard Railroad of the World's BROADWAY LIMITED. Real railroaders don't pussyfoot around the Alleghenies by taking the Lake route: They strap an extra engine on in Altoona and go OVER the mountains utilizing the Legendary Horse Shoe Curve. Enjoy!

  • What a great way to get to know the history of Grand Central Terminal, as well as other interesting NYC facts! This tour was super informative! Our guide knew EVERYTHING and more! We started in the main atrium, walked outside, walked near the tennis courts (you can’t actually see them) and the glass walkway (you can’t walk through it), stopped in front of Grand Central’s most famous restaurants and more. Listening devices made it easy to hear every word while maintaining a safe distance. Photos also provided historical reference. The guide was a great storyteller but also put emphasis on making sure we knew the facts and not just a great story. I would recommend this to anyone with a general interest in architecture or wanting to learn more about NYC history.

This was a fantastic informative tour that kept the pace going. We’ve lived and worked in NY so we were fascinated to learn new things about Grand Central . Perfect for tourists or Locals. I really enjoyed doing this during the pandemic as the station was less crowded and safety protocols were in place

  • We toured during the October 2020 so some of the areas were understandably closed due to Coronavirus. Our guide allowed us to socially distance by offering earpieces which had been sanitized. He had an intimate knowledge of Grand Central it’s history and it’s architecture. Definitely would recommend to anyone w/ a love of architecture.

My 9 year old son and I are so glad we chose to take this tour! Justin was knowledgeable, connected past to present, kept the tour engaging and fast paced, and answered all of our questions. Grand Central’s history and architecture are fascinating. This tour would be great for New Yorkers and tourists alike.

We took this tour during covid times. Justin’s masking, distancing, and use of hand sanitizer - all by the book. Felt very safe. Plus there are so few people at Grand Central right now, distancing from others is easy.

Wouldn’t change a thing about this tour. Worth every penny and every minute!

Enjoyed this tour with unique sites and excellent storytelling. Our guide (can't remember her name, sorry 'cause she was fantastic) had such a good understanding of how transportation developed in NYC, as well as the city's response to Grand Central Terminal through the decades. But the tour was so much more than that. There was much to love in the small details that you'd otherwise miss or not have access to unless you're in the hands of an expert. Do this tour!
