Meet the award-winning firehouse dog, Chief, who is still around today...
The Architecture & Design Film Festival is the nation’s largest film festival dedicated to exploring and celebrating the creative processes behind some of the world’s most renowned architectural designs. In New York City, this year’s festival will be hosted again by Tribeca Cinemas from October 16 to October 20, 2013. The festival will feature films on architects and urban designers such as Walter Gropius, who rose to fame with the founding of the Bauhaus, and Tadao Ando, a prominent brutalist known as the Japanese Master of Minimalism.
In addition to these visionary architects, the festival will delve into works ranging from those of the British designer Paul Smith, who inspired men to pursue fashion, to those of Jan Gehl, an urban designer interested in how humans behave on city streets. The line-up will also touch on a variety of other subjects, including historic preservation and the creative processes of a sculptural artist.
In total, there will be twenty-five films featured in the festival, each categorized into fifteen programs. Tickets for the festival will go on sale starting October 1, 2013 and will be sold by the program at the Tribeca Cinemas Box Office and online at the Architecture & Design Film Festival website.
