MONDAY, MARCH 18: Attention Heroes, villains, crusaders, cyborgs, mutants and creatures of the night. The Super-human Underground comes together to celebrate our collective feats of wonder with a night of Underground movies and dangerously cheap booze at the infamous Gotham city lounge. Featuring: “Bodega Chips” Directed by Jamie Idea, an award winning short film by Maxwell Cohn, a speciel preiview of our new secret film project, and the premier of “The Life and Times of Dr. Adventure”. TUESDAY, MARCH 19: Alexander Garvin book talk at the Skyscraper Museum. The Planning Game: Lessons from Great Cities presents the public-realm approach to planning–emphasizing the importance of public investments in streets, squares, parks, infrastructure, and public buildings. This wise and well-illustrated compendium examines planning at every level, explaining the activities necessary to successfully transform a community. The Lessons from Great Cities draw on four historical examples and their colorful motive forces: Paris (Baron Georges-Eugène Haussmann), New York (Robert Moses), Chicago (Daniel Burnham), and Philadelphia (Edmund Bacon). 6:30pm at the Skyscraper Museum, 39 Battery Place. Join us for a lively conversation with leaders in this new approach to sustainability: treehugger.com founder Graham Hill, creator of “Life Edited” campaign, which focuses on creating small elegant living spaces; and Ari Goldstein of Jonathan Rose Companies, which makes high density and mixed-use a centerpiece of the green strategies in its affordable housing developments. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20: Please join the Made in NY Team as they aim to create a video art installation that captures both the city’s extreme cultural diversity, and the continuous movement and rhythm of its beautiful pedestrians. Participants will be needed simply to walk across a plain white backdrop in front of their camera. Dress the way they normally dress, and walk the way they normally walk on the streets of NY. Each shoot will take no more than a quick 30 seconds per participant, each of whom will receive a limited edition signed and numbered certificate commemorating their involvement. Shoot times are 6-10pm this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 28 West 27th Street off Broadway. Simply show up at any point during the above times and you’ll be in and out before you know it. Feel free to bring as many friends as you want, all shapes, sizes, age, race and gender welcome!!! If you call yourself a New Yorker… Then we’re looking for you!

Also on Wednesday: Join MAS for Building Resilience Through the Arts, a discussion hosted in collaboration with the World Policy Institute. The panel will consider the role artists play in creating and defining resilient, livable and vibrant communities. Confirmed panelists include Kemi Ilesanmi of The Laundromat Project, Artist Dustin Yellin, Martin Rosengaard, artist and Wooloo.org co-founder, and Lisa Kim, cultural affairs director at Two Trees Management. THURSDAY, MARCH 21: Join Bronx Brewery at Coopers Craft & Kitchen as they debut their latest beer for the spring: Bronx Belgian Pale Ale. Two strains of Trappist yeast, one Belgian ale yeast, and Belgian candi sugar highlight this remarkably intricate, fruity, spicy, and earthy straw-colored Belgian Pale Ale. Belgian Pilsner and Biscuit malts from Beloeil and German Vienna malts from Bamberg provide a clean backdrop for the spicy and lightly herbal Sterling hops. 7-10pm at Coopers Craft & Kitchen, 87 2nd Avenue.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22: Gimme the Loot film screening + Q&A with the director and cast. Dissed by a rival gang, Bronx graffiti artists Malcolm and Sofia hatch a plan to get revenge by tagging an iconic landmark—but they need $500 to pull off their spectacular scheme. Over the course of two whirlwind, sun-soaked summer days, they travel on an epic urban adventure involving black-market spray cans, illicit bodegas, stolen sneakers, a high-stakes heist and a beautiful, stoned girl who holds the key to their becoming the biggest writers in the city. SATURDAY, MARCH 23: Underground Eats presents The Art of Stuffed Pasta with Del Posto. The class begins with a two hour demo led by Del Posto’s Chef de Cuisine, Matt Abdoo. Students will produce an egg-based pasta dough and work with four fillings: ricotta, pumpkin, meat and mushroom. Students will see a demonstration of Del Posto’s famous 100 layer lasagne and create their own agnolotti, mezzaluna, pansoti and cappellacci. The afternoon will conclude with a family style lunch, where guests will be able to sample the pastas served in the dining room, accompanied by selected wines. SUNDAY, MARCH 24: Meet Urban Planner Moses Gates at the Sheepshead Bay Q-Train stop for a short (3-mile) walk through Sheepshead Bay and Manhattan Beach, before heading along the Brighton/Coney Island Boardwalk and riding the Cyclone. During this, you’ll pass through the the second-to-last one of New York’s 2217 Census Tracts he has left to walk. 4pm at the Sheepshead Bay Q-Train stop. FREE.
