MONDAY, MARCH 25: Chef Patricia Clark + The Equus projects Dinner. The Equus Projects combine dance, horsemanship and public performance in exhibitions that will astound and impress even the very jaded NYC art aficionado. Meet the dancers, watch video of past performances, meet the owners of the horses and learn how collaboration breeds inspiration and public education. Also on Monday: Underground Eats presents a Mexican Passover Fiesta. Shake things up a a bit this year for Passover and head to Louro for a special Guest Chef dinner with La Newyorkina’s Fany Gerson. Chefs Santos and Gerson will prepare a fun six-course Mexican dinner inspired by traditional Passover dishes. Gefilte fish with chipotle sauce? Matzoh ball soup with serrano pepper and cilantro? TUESDAY, MARCH 26: The New York Botanical Garden explodes into a tropical floral extravaganza for the 11th annual Orchid Show. Banish your winter blues as you take in the thousands of blooms on display, and don’t forget to make a pit stop by the Shop in the Garden for your very own orchid to take home. This year the design, by staffer Francisca Coelho, thoughtfully incorporates trees felled by Hurricane Sandy. 10am-6pm at the New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27: “Hidden Cities: My Journey Into The Secret World Of Urban Exploration,” with Moses Gates, an urban planner, demographer, and licensed New York City tour guide. This illustrated talk is a fascinating glimpse into the world of urban exploration. The author describes his trespasses through underground canals, sewers, subways, crypts, in some of the most illustrious cities in the world, from Paris to Cairo to Moscow, spanning four continents. 6:30-8:30pm at Mid-Manhattan Public Library, 455 Fifth Avenue. THURSDAY, MARCH 28: New York City’s subways are an object of fascination for tourists, kids, commuters, city dwellers and urban explorers alike. What is it that makes those 722 miles of track and train cars so interesting? Tonight’s discussion of the appeal of the subway will be hosted by Moses Gates, author of the new book Hidden Cities: Travels to the Secret Corners of the World’s Great Metropolises. He’ll talk with Eric Ruggiero, an explorer and photographer from New York City; Benjamin Kabak, the proprietor of the popular subway blog “Second Avenue Sagas“; and Stefanie Gray, transit campaign coordinator for Transportation Alternatives, and the latest person to attempt to break the record for quickest trip through the entire subway system. Join us to share the obsession and learn some subway secrets from some serious urban adventurers with discussion, images and video. 7:30pm at Greenlight Bookstore, 686 Fulton Street, Brooklyn. FREE.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29: ‘Game of Thrones’ will come alive for fans in an immersive, not-to-be-missed touring exhibition that will transport viewers into the breathtaking and enchanted world of Westeros. The traveling exhibit, the first of its kind by HBO, will stop in five international cities – Toronto, New York City, Sao Paolo, Amsterdam and Belfast. Presented by HBO and international partners, the exhibition is free to the public and focuses on key characters from five of the noble houses: Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon and Greyjoy. It will showcase a trove of more than 70 original artifacts from Seasons 1 and 2, plus select pieces from this year’s new season. 10am-8pm at 3 West 57th Street. Until April 3. FREE.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30: NYC Craft Beer Festival. In the tradition of the Grand Tasting, each attendee will be given a tasting glass and have the opportunity to try unlimited 2 oz tastings of approximately 150 craft beers from all over the country. Food will be available for purchase for all attendees and there will be a selection of retail vendors on-site. VIP and Connoisseur attendees will have the first hour to themselves to sample these great brews and Connoisseurs will have a private lounge with rare selections and passed hors d’oeuvres throughout the session. SUNDAY, MARCH 31: Last chance to catch the New Directors/New Films Festival. Now in its 42nd year, the renowned New Directors/New Films festival, presented jointly by The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, introduces New York audiences to the work of emerging or not-yet-established filmmakers from around the world. This year the festival takes place at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center and at The Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 1 at MoMA. Times vary. See the complete list of films here.
