TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30: Eternal Rest is a solo presentation of work by artist Paco Cao. Known for challenging an audience’s definition of an art experience through his unique and daring projects, this exhibition will be the artist’s most perilous undertaking yet – his ascension to the occult. For this exhibition, Cao created a deck of forty digitally illustrated Tarot cards that forge a link between the past, present, and future through the combination of the images of four contemporary music idols. For the duration of Eternal Rest, the artist will channel the spirits of Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Kurt Cobain to enlist their aid as guides through the spirit world. Peering into the future and past, Cao will give private card readings to each gallery visitor navigating them through the vicissitudes of their fate. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31:   Nuit Blanche New York presents a Halloween Hellraiser at The Autumn Bowl. This epic industrial space has been transformed into a macabre audio-visual environment for an unforgettable Halloween show with Andrew W.K. featuring special guests, DJ set by Creep, Ice Balloons, DJ Dog Dick, other artists to be announced. Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm at 67 West Street, Greenpoint, Brooklyn. $20 tickets available here.  THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO HURRICANE SANDY.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1:  One-night pop-up showing of Interdependence by TJ Volonis  hosted by The Vanderbilt Republic  and curated by George Del Barrio.Volonis creates wall-mounted copper sculptures that focus on the dependent relationship between the whole and the segment and the fragile balance between order and disorder. 7pm at Gowanus Loft, 61 9th Street, Brooklyn. $10 at the door includes gyoza + beer. All profits go to the artist. THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2:  Book Launch: Coloring for Grown-Ups by Ryan Hunter and Taige Jensen. Dreamed up by the creators of the massive Youtube hit, “Hipster Olympics,” COLORING FOR GROWN-UPS is the ultimate F-you to growing up that can be enjoyed during woeful short lunch breaks, while procrastinating on a college paper or while waiting on the low-paying job interview. It’s the type of book readers might leave on their coffee table for a hung-over house guest to flip through after a night of questionable decision-making. The activities in the book resemble typical, coloring-book-style pages, but with a slightly twisted perspective that offers an ironic look at the stereotypes, habits, and challenges of modern adulthood. 6-8pm at powerHouse Arena, 37 Main Street (corner of Water St. & Main St.), DUMBO, Brooklyn. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3:   Circumnavigating Staten Island: The Essential Waterfront  Boat Tour with MCNY. Staten Island is the gateway to New York Harbor. Even though it is geographically closer to New Jersey than to the other boroughs, the island’s coastline figures large in the city’s marine history– both strategically and economically. How will Staten Island and its waterfront figure in the city’s future? In conjunction with the Museum of the City of New York’s current exhibition From Farm to City: Staten Island, 1661-2012, the Working Harbor Committee and the Museum co-present a three-hour boat trip around Staten Island that will explore its past, present and future. 11am-2:30pm at the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street. Reservations required: $40/$35 for Museum Members, South Street Seaport Museum Members, Working Harbor Committee.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4: Downtown: Access Denied Tour by the Municipal Art Society. This tour led by Francis Morrone is all about the things we cannot see””are not allowed to see: City Hall, the statue of Nathan Hale in City Hall Park, the Woolworth Building lobby, Chase Manhattan Plaza, the Cunard Building, and more. The reasons this tour won’t have access to these sites vary: 9/11, Occupy Wall Street, disrespectful tour guides, untenanted spaces. We will also talk about what’s up with all that Wall Street security: Has it, by banning cars from near the Wall and Broad intersection, actually improved access? And what the heck is privately owned public space, anyway? These and other, related, issues will be explored in an unusual tour that will also point out surprising instances of access allowed. 2pm. $20 / $15 Members. Location released after purchase.
