How to Make a Subway Map with John Tauranac
Hear from an author and map designer who has been creating maps of the NYC subway, officially and unofficially, for over forty years!
Today’s Daily What?! is the brand new, outdoor pop-up library on Governor’s Island. The result of a joint partnership between the New York Public Library, the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Queens Public Library systems, the Library Lawn will be open every weekend on NYC’s favorite summertime island retreat.
Complete with hammocks (perfect for catching up on some R&R–reading and relaxation), the Library Lawn will essentially function as far more than just a reading room–the pop-up will actually act as an outdoor branch of the libraries, allowing you to check out books, sign up for a library card, and participate in free programming there all summer long. As if reading outside weren’t temptation enough during those sunny lunch breaks.
