Hammersmith is just down the road from Fulham and Shepherds Bush, in the West of London. There are a lot of pubs there, a lot. But they aren’t your run of the mill, standard pubs. Each one is eye catching, full of character, ready to lure you in for a cool drink and maybe a bit of food too. Here, we’re providing a pub crawl of sorts via the architecture and fun colors of the bars in this neighborhood.

the HOP POLES

What a striking pub. It boasts a terrace and outside space, along with great high ceilings, a good atmosphere and a nice selection of food. Come here after work on a Friday and catch up with friends perched on a bar stool or sitting comfy on a sofa. It’s very well situated right next to Hammersmith tube stations (Hammersmith, Piccadilly & District lines), and a central location for Hammersmith’s other attractions of the Apollo and the Lyric theatre.

the HAMMERSMITH RAM

An Irish pub in London! We love the look of this pub, it’s just so welcoming with the tables out on the street – great for people watching and relaxing in the (summer) sun. Boasting two musical nights a week where you can enjoy live music and join in or sit back and relax. Food, beers & lagers, cocktails and wine, a friendly atmosphere and open till 12midnight Monday to Saturday.

the SALUTATION INNSalutation Inn_untappedcitiesSlightly daunting from the outside and a bit further down King Street than you might normally go, but once you’re inside this pub really opens up. There must be something about purple and Hammersmith, but you definitely wouldn’t miss this pub!

the RUTLAND ARMS

The Rutland Arms_untappedcities

This pub is right on the river with a great bustling atmosphere. During the summer the doors are all open and the outside seating expands to people leaning on the nearby wall on the edge of the river. In the winter the doors are closed and theres a lovely cosy feel inside. Pub quizzes, food, beer festivals, Pimms…there is something for everyone.

If pubs aren’t your thing Hammersmith also has Wagamama, Nandos and coming soon a Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) and Bills. Something to cover all bases there!
