Pinball was banned in New York City from 1942 to 1976 after a crusade by Mayor LaGuardia saw thousands of machines confiscated and destroyed.
French street artist Invader, who recently announced an NYC takeover, was reportedly arrested this past Thursday while installing the above mosaic in the Lower East Side. The NYPD let Banksy slip through their fingers last month but it seems they are not taking lightly to a new wave of vigilante street art. The Lo-Down first reported the news that police alerted the owner of 90 Orchard Street to say that an arrest had been made, and the piece was taken down promptly. Mark Miller, owner of an art gallery in the building removed the piece cleanly and reportedly has no intention of selling it.
