A Playground Made of Scaffolding Comes to Brooklyn
A pesky part of the urban environment becomes a place of play at Brooklyn Children's Museum!
One of Amsterdam’s many secrets, De Bakkerswinkel, is definitely a place that should be uncovered by any bakery/brunch/breakfast/bread-loving being that passes through. De Bakkerswinkel, which in Dutch means “The Bakery”, is all about merging the traditional with the new, which you can sense from your first step in the store and in your first sight and sniffing distance of whatever dish you order.
This is not only a place to grab a pastry, have lunch or high tea, it’s a place full of all things cute…that you can admire and enjoy because it’s so cozy. From floral to antiques to wood-beams and retro lights, De Bakkerswinkel is bound to make your eyes wander. Not only all over the room, but also all over the menu that is so colorful and full of tasty treats. There is a wide variety of breakfast meals, pastries and beverages, all made of high quality ingredients and with traditional recipes.
There are several De Bakkerswinkel‘s around Amsterdam, and the one pictured here is in the heart of the Red Light District, with two large rooms and many tables. Some shops are just for sandwiches and snacks on the go, and some are spaciously ideal for parties or events where a deliciously kitsch and quirky atmosphere is desired.
It’s a place for anyone at anytime in the heart of such a beautifully refreshing city.
