In Queens, The Museum of Moving Image exhibit “How Cats Took Over the Internet” has been so successful, it’s been extended through February 21st this year. Announced yesterday will be the addition of a surprise guest, the celebrity cat “Lil Bub” will appear at the museum on January 30th. If you have only heard of Grumpy Cat, Lil Bub is a true celeb in her own right – she’s hosted a talk show with Michelle Obama and Whoopi Goldberg and is the subject of the documentary Lil BUB & Friendz, winner of Tribeca Online Festival Best Feature Film.
She’s also one of the faces for ASCAP and its support for the adoption of special needs pets. Lil Bub was born with genetic mutations and a bone disorder. Because of a short lower jaw and lack of teeth, her tongue always hangs out. There will be three events on January 30th: “The Story of Lil BUB,” featuring Lil Bub’s owner aka her “dude” Mike Bridavsky, a Meet and Greet Fundraiser that benefits ASPCA, along with an ASPCA mobile adoption event in front of the museum from 1 to 5 pm.
Products about Lil Bub, like the book Lil BUB’s Lil Book: The Extraordinary Life of the Most Amazing Cat on the Planet, stuffed animals and calendars predominantly benefit animal rescue groups.
