If you haven’t made it out to The Bushwick Collective yet to check out the amazing street art, this weekend would be a great time to go! The Collective is kicking off the summer with its 1st annual gallery show and 3rd annual block party. We recently had a chance to revisit this street art hotspot, which has featured famous and up-and-coming artists for the past three years.
Damien Mitchell mural near the Dekalb Ave Station.
The outdoor street art gallery is centered on Troutman Street near the Jefferson L train stop, and seems to be expanding rapidly. New walls are popping up in different areas, especially near the Morgan and DeKalb stations. The work is fabulous.
Also near the Dekalb Station, a wheatpaste by Swoon, who’s masterful installation is on view at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
In addition to new outdoor walls, the Collective is also expanding to include an indoor gallery. After three years of painting outdoor walls and floors, the Collective will host their first indoor gallery exhibition at 426 Troutman Street. Opening Thursday, May 29, the art show features an all-star line up of artists: Blek Le Rat, Dan Witz, Joe Iurato, Jerkface, Solus, Beau Stanton, Rubin415, Chris Stain, Zimad, Sexer, Atom, & FKDL.

Bushwick Collective Block Party is on Sunday. Featuring live painting on the street by 20 different artists, live music, food trucks, and beer—it’s going to be bananas. Find more information and complete lists of artists and music here.
