Join photographer Daniel Root at his exhibit EVLOGY at COZMOS where he will discuss the bars we’ve lost, walking at dawn, memory, and photography!
- See prints of lost bars in the East Village
- Learn about the behind-the-scenes process of capturing the photos on display
- Hear from Daniel about his own unique artistic process
- Take a short walk through Tompkins Square Park to a beloved neighborhood bar: 7B, featured on the cover of Daniel’s book New York Bars at Dawn!
- Copies of New York Bars at Dawn will be on sale and Daniel will be available to autograph them!
About the event:
Join photographer Daniel Root at his exhibit EVLOGY: The Bars We’ve Lost inside COZMOS, a fragrance shop and art venue in the East Village. At this intimate event, Daniel will share insights into his photography process and his experiences capturing the bars of NYC. After learning about the photographs on display, Daniel will lead the group to one of his favorite local watering holes!
*Please note there is a 1-drink minimum at 7B and guests are responsible for their own bar tab. Non-alcoholic beverages, including water bottles, will be available for purchase.

The event is sold out?
In-person Insider tours may have limited capacity and are booked on a first come, first served basis.
But don’t worry! Sometimes spots open up closer to the event date if there are cancellations. We also repeat our most popular events when possible so you will have another opportunity to join us. There are also multiple other members-only events weekly that you can join in!
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled event, you will receive a 100%. When canceled less than 48 hours before the start of your tour, you will receive a gift card that can be used on any future events. Please be courteous to your fellow Insiders and let us know if you can no longer attend so we can offer your spot to another person.
