Featuring the photography of author and documentary filmmaker John Lazzaro, A Vanishing New York: Ruins Across the Empire State is a photographic essay that explores some of the most evocative abandoned sites in the Empire State and puts their individual stories in the larger context of New York’s historical legacy. In this virtual talk, we’ll explore photographs of the Adirondack region that Lazzaro shot for the book.

About SPEAKER NAME

John Lazzaro is an author, photographer, and documentary filmmaker based in Long Island, NY. In his approach to photography, Lazzaro draws upon his experiences from documentary filmmaking in order to create a realistic, visual, and thought-provoking dialogue of the macabre. His main focus is capturing abandoned buildings and vanishing architecture throughout the US.
