The Remnants of Dutch New Amsterdam Tour
Discover the many hidden Dutch relics south of Wall Street, as you trace the streets of Manhattan in 1667.
Explore where New York began and see what is left of Dutch New Amsterdam in today's lower Manhattan! In this small group walking tour, you'll hear about New York’s founding myths and facts while standing in the very spots where they all happened. With New York City's first map in hand you will trace the streets of Manhattan in 1667 while discovering the many hidden Dutch relics south of Wall Street. Physically touch history as you spend time finding out how Bowling Green got its name and why it’s been so important in our city’s history! Among the many relics you will experience on this tour are the foundations of New York City's first City Hall (which was also a tavern!), the long forgotten oyster pasty cannon, the original battery wall and so much more! This New Amsterdam tour is led by an expert guide from the Untapped New York team.

Very interesting, perfectly paced Gabby was a fantastic tour guide - knowledgeable with a super delivery. We know quite a bit about NYC and its history and were very excited to a few new tidbits. The tour pace was perfect. We really liked that she only talked when we were stopped and focused on her so no one missed anything (we've been on walking tours where the guide talked while walking so most people miss most of what was said). Its hard to point to one stop that stood out, as we enjoyed all of them.Toni-Lynn M
The Remnants of Dutch New Amsterdam. Great tour! Mandy, our guide was passionate and extremely knowledgeable and fun. She was tuned into the needs of the group, answered all questions with patience and humor. I'd love to take another tour with her. Highly recommended and I'll become a member, because of my experience.Berte S

You pass them every day in downtown Manhattan, but did you know the stores behind The Remnants of Dutch New Amsterdam? So many unexpected things to see! Mandy is the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. As usual, Untapped Cities never disappoints.SueS3398
Wonderful tour Mandy was really passionate about history and she taught us a lot! She also made us want to learn more about the period with book recommendations.
Would definitely recommend this tour and this guide and do other tours with untapped tours in the future.mariecosmos
Lived in New York my whole life, yet ...went to places and learned facts I never knew about Dutch NY...
Excellent tour and guide was super-informative...BabyVTillson
I can't say enough about Mandy our tour guide! The depth of her knowledge of the subject was matched by her enthusiasm and eagerness to share it with the tour. She even had the presence of mind to sheppard us into building entry ways to shelter us from the wind on a cold day while she spoke. The props were fun as well. I was truly delighted with this tour!Seth Lubin
