ARTECHOUSE, an immersive art installation located below Chelsea Market, has been a smash hit with our Untapped New York Insiders. ARTECHOUSE’s newest multi-sensory installation, Submerge has just opened and is an explosion of color and patterns, all inspired by Pantone’s Color of the Year – PANTONE 19-4052, Classic Blue.
The work is curated and produced by ARTECHOUSE’s creative team, led by art director Sandro Kereselidze, and is an extension of the experience the team developed together with Intus Interactive Design for Pantone’s Color of the Year 2020 reveal event in December 2019, which unveiled the Pantone Color of the Year 2020. Untapped New York Insiders will get free access to several showings of Submerge this month (see details below).

According to Kereselidze, “At ARTECHOUSE we try to connect audiences to art in an entirely new way, stimulating minds, emotions, and imagination through multiple touchpoints. Just as musicians use the notes to evoke feelings, we as artists use
color to affect the psyche and elicit powerful emotions. Our collaboration with Pantone, offered us an opportunity to utilize our state-of-the-art technology and design tools to push the possibilities and truly submerge people into color, creating an unprecedented multisensory exploration where one would not only visually take in the color but feel it all around them. We are thrilled to bring this exciting installation to a larger audience.”

The organizers believe that PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is a peaceful, restful color and the installation will do the same, offering a few moments to visitors to seek refuge from the city and the world around us. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute states, “We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on. Imbued with a deep resonance, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue provides an anchoring foundation. We are excited to work with Artechouse to open the experience to consumers to be immersed in the Pantone Color of the Year 2020.”
Submerge will only be open for the month of February, and will be followed by a new installation, so there is a limited amount of time to experience it. We will be offering our Untapped New York Insiders four opportunities to experience Submerge for free: February 13th at 6 PM and 7PM, and February 15th at 3 PM and 4 PM. Registration opens for Submerge for Untapped New York Insiders today at noon.
