During the month of February, Times Square Arts will present Continuum by Krista Kim. The visually soothing video will be part of the Times Square Arts Midnight Moment series, airing across 90 electronic billboards throughout Times Square every day from 11:57 p.m. to midnight. Produced in collaboration with audiovisual artist Efren Mur, Continuum uses light to foster a peaceful experience, blending calming colorscapes with vivid saturation. In doing so, the video provides viewers respite from their everyday lives and the mental and physical toll the pandemic has caused. To create Continuum, Kim utilized a database of LED light photography, photoshop, binary code, and dynamic software.

Through Continuum, Kim hopes to foster a communal space that imparts a sense of meditativeness using the digital language of our time — akin to the community fostered within ancient Japanese Zen gardens. Moreover, Kim aims to shift her audience into adopting a positive digital consciousness by allowing them to better understand the beauty of technology.
