21. We The People Civics Fair at King Manor – June 17th

King Manor

The home of abolitionist Rufus King in Jamaica, Queens will host a Civics Fair on June 17th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fair will include booths with activities from local organizations including NAACP, South Queens Womens’ March, and Abuela Neighborhood Maintenance as well as crafts sessions where kids can write with quill and ink, and adolescents and young adults can make activist signs. There will be a reading by poet David Mills at this free event.

22. Historic Queens Pride Walk – June 18th, 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m

One June 18th, join Urban Park Ranges for a guided walkthrough the historic neighborhood of Jackson Heights, home of the Queens Pride Parade. On this tour, guests will explore the past, present, and future of Queens’ LGBTQ+ community along the parade route and uncover stories of the neighborhood’s queer history. The tour will take place from 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m., meeting at Travers Park. Find more info here!
