19 Knox's Headquarters

Knox’s Headquarters State Historic Site was originally constructed in 1754 as the country estate of John and Catharine Ellison. During the Revolutionary War, the estate served as a military headquarters for the likes of General Henry Knox, General Nathanael Greene, and General Horatio Gates. The house allows visitors to explore how the Ellisons and other families lived in the area during the 18th and 19th centuries as well as its prominent Revolutionary War connections.
