Aboard the Solaris, the only 100% solar-powered boat operating on the Hudson River, you can discover wildlife, dive into the industrial history of Rondout Creek, hear spooky legends of the river on a candle-lit tour, or simply enjoy a lazy cruise with the family.

Built by the Hudson River Maritime Museum’s restoration crew under the direction of Jim Kricker, Solaris is the only solar-powered boat in operation on the Hudson River. It does not require fossil fuels to operate. The tour boat can accommodate up to 10 passengers and is available for public tours and private charters.

Know Before You Go

- Please note: Solaris does not stop at either lighthouse and this cruise does not include tours of the interior of the lighthouses due to COVID protocols.
- Please dress for the weather. It can often be up to 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so we recommend a light jacket or sweater on cooler days
- Don't forget to bring a camera, sunscreen, a copy of your confirmation email, which you will receive after you book and water and/or snack. Please leave coolers, luggage and very large bags at home
- In compliance with Phase 4 of New York's reopening strategy, we will be operating at 33% capacity (10 guests and 2 crew members) and requiring all staff and guests to wear protective face coverings to ensure your safety and the safety of the crew. We will be thoroughly disinfecting all surfaces between each trip and maintaining strict social distancing practices, including sectioning off a "crew only area".
